Three of the biggest names in street car drag racing event promotion will be joining forces for a massive show at Beech Bend Raceway, Kentucky with the running of the first ever Speedfest presented by Sick The Magazine, Street Car Takeover and Braggin Rights.
Speedfest General Rules and Class Regulations
Sick Sevens
- Car and driver must comply with NHRA specifications for 7.50 quarter-mile elapsed times at a minimum.
- Car and driver must meet applicable general rules described above.
- Throttle stops and delay boxes prohibited.
- Drag and drive sessions will be provided across two days of competition. Competitors may make one run per session.
- The 100-mile street drive and checkpoints will be mandatory and will take place after the first session. The street drive must be completed before the racer makes their next run.
- Competitors will be required to submit three time slips, which will create their average time.
- The objective is to have an average as close to 7.500 (quarter-mile) as possible.
- A minimum of one time slip is required from each day of competition.
- All time slips will need to be handed in within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the last standard session.
- Only time slips of 7.500 and above may be submitted.
- The top ten average times will go into a final session to determine the winner. Each of these racers will receive a Sick Week Wildcard.
- If there is a tie for tenth position, both racers will go into the final session and receive Sick Week Wildcards.
- The winner will be the racer who runs closest to 7.500 (without going under) on their single pass in the final session.
- Racers in the final session will run in reverse qualifying order i.e. 10th vs 9th first pair, 8th vs 7th second pair, etc.
- If there is a tie, the winner will be the racer who had the quicker average in the earlier sessions.
- The winner will receive $5,000 and a Sick orange champion’s helmet.
Sick 8.50 Shootout
